Laying Chickens
We raise a large number of laying hens. Breeds are White Leghorns and Special Browns. They are free-range pasture-raised and fed NON-GMO grain to supplement their diet.
Cornish Cross Broiler Chickens
Our Cornish-Cross broiler chickens are pasture-raised and live in mobile chicken tractors that are moved daily. They are fed NON-GMO grain to supplement their diet. We do the processing ourselves, so that gives us the ability to sell fresh whole chicken a couple of times a year. Otherwise, the chickens are sold frozen in our farm store.
Heritage Berkshire Pigs
Heritage Berkshire Pigs are well known for their remarkable meat quality and excellent flavor. They live outside with a shelter and are fenced in a wooded lot. The pigs root and forage for some of their food. A majority of the diet is NON-GMO grain. The pigs are processed by a certified licensed butcher who does not use any MSG's or nitrates in the meat. The butcher uses celery salt to cure the meat naturally. This is a much healthier option, and we are very pleased to be able to offer that to our customers. NON-GMO Grain
All our animals need the nutrition that corn and soybean meal offer. Each type of animal has distinct nutritional needs. They each require different ingredients and quantities. We grow our own NON-GMO corn and locally source the other ingredients from Saukville Feeds. We mix all our own feed, which enables us to have extensive knowledge and understanding of what goes into each animal. We know that it is very important for ourselves and our customers.
